Overview
We are seeking a reliable and experienced Recovery Driver to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for safely transporting recovered vehicles and equipment, ensuring timely delivery, and maintaining excellent communication with clients and team members. This role offers an opportunity to utilise your driving skills within a dynamic environment, contributing to efficient recovery operations.
Responsibilities
- Operate recovery vehicles, including flatbed lorries, in accordance with road safety regulations and company policies
- Safely recover and transport vehicles or equipment from various locations to designated sites
- Conduct routine vehicle inspections and basic mechanical checks before and after journeys
- Communicate effectively with dispatch, clients, and team members regarding pick-up and delivery schedules
- Maintain accurate records of recoveries, deliveries, and vehicle conditions
- Assist with loading and unloading recovered items using appropriate equipment
- Ensure compliance with health and safety standards at all times during operations
Requirements
- Valid driving licence.
- Proven experience as a driving or delivery driver, ideally within vehicle recovery or warehouse environments
- Mechanical knowledge to identify basic vehicle issues and perform simple troubleshooting
- Strong communication skills to liaise effectively with clients and team members
- Experience operating recovery equipment.
- Ability to work independently, demonstrate organisational skills, and manage time efficiently
- Good physical fitness to handle loading/unloading tasks and long hours on the road
