The successful candidate for the above post will be an EHCP coordinator in the SEND Team. This team are responsible for the coproduction of Education, Health and Care (EHC) needs plans for children and young people 0-25 with SEND.
The successful candidate will work with parent/carers and young people with SEND, education providers, health and social care colleagues to ensure a quality EHCP. Your role is to interpret and collaborate assessments of others and write into a plan in a restorative manner, to champion the child or young person and work in co-produced way.
Experience of working with children and young people with a range of special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) and their families and a good working knowledge of current SEND-related legislation and the SEND Code of Practice will be essential. Knowledge of EHCP’s as documents will be mandatory and a key task will be ensuring that statutory timescales are met.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills will be essential, as will the ability to build and maintain strong and positive working relationships with families, schools and a
range of other professionals.
The role requires confident use of case management systems and digital tools to record, track, and manage cases, maintain accurate data, and support service reporting and performance monitoring. You will use your organisational skills to prioritise a busy caseload, ensuring timely communication and compliance with statutory duties.
There are two positions available for this role. One 22.2 hour position (12 month Fixed Term Contract) and one full time, permanent role.
This post will be carrying out Regulated Activity. As such the post will require an Enhanced Criminal Record Check plus an additional Barred List Check. The check will reveal any spent and unspent convictions and adult cautions (which have not been filtered), any local Police information and a check of either the Adult, Child or Adult and Child Barred Lists.
