What you’ll be doing

As a Catering Assistant, you’ll play a key role in delivering high-quality service at IET Birmingham: Austin Court. From preparing and serving refreshments to maintaining kitchen cleanliness and stock levels, you’ll help ensure seamless catering for conferences and events.

You’ll work closely with the on-site contract caterer and the Operations Manager to meet customer needs while upholding high standards of hygiene, safety, and sustainability.

We’re looking for someone with catering or hospitality experience, excellent customer service skills, and great attention to detail. You’ll be organised, proactive, and confident in handling a variety of tasks from setting up catering stations to ensuring all equipment is cleaned and stored properly.

A little more about the role

• Prepare, deliver, and clear refreshments for conferences and events.
• Ensure catering areas, equipment, and stock are maintained to the highest standards.
• Work independently to manage your workload while liaising with the on-site contract caterer.
• Support the Operations Manager in delivering seamless events.
• Follow health and safety procedures, including food hygiene regulations.

• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks.
• A flexible approach – availability for early mornings, evenings, and weekends as needed.
