What You’ll Do

As a Van Network Planner, you’ll be responsible for both strategic and day-to-day transport planning across multiple depots. You’ll use industry-leading systems, including Paragon, to design and optimise transport plans that are cost-effective, achievable, and deliver a premium service.

Key Responsibilities

• Produce and manage transport plans using Paragon and internal VMS systems
• Plan across multiple workflows including SME, Click & Collect, and Returns
• Continuously review and improve transport plans to optimise cost and resource utilisation
• Work closely with depot teams to ensure plan adherence and operational success
• Provide expert support and guidance to depots on transport planning and Paragon usage
• Analyse plan vs actual data, providing insights and reporting to improve performance
• Deliver change initiatives to improve network efficiency and planning processes
• Conduct cost analysis and model potential new transport activity
• Develop peak planning strategies to ensure capacity and cost efficiency

What We’re Looking For

• To succeed in this role, you’ll bring a strong combination of analytical thinking, planning expertise, and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Strong mathematical (GCSE or above) and analytical capability
• Experience in transport planning or operations
• Knowledge of transport legislation and driver compliance
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel

Desirable

• Experience with Paragon transport planning software
• Strong data analysis and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities
• Ability to manage workloads independently and meet deadlines
• Confidence influencing depot stakeholders to drive service improvements
