Nottingham Central Women’s Aid is working to end to violence against women and girls by providing safe accommodation, intervention programmes and support to recovery following the trauma of being subjected to abuse. We specialise in working with women and families who face multiple disadvantages and complexity of needs.
Join our dedicated Domestic Abuse Specialist Support Team, where you’ll provide trauma-informed, high-quality, proactive front-line support to women and children impacted by domestic abuse. You’ll work within both communal and dispersed accommodation settings and support our survivor recovery programmes.
Responsibilities:
· Provide practical and personal welfare support to ensure a safe and supportive environment for families.
· Organise and deliver weekly house meetings, documenting actions and decisions.
· Support the Wellbeing Worker in delivering a residents’ programme of activities, encouraging participation from women and children.
· Handle day-to-day housing management, including health & safety checks and fire drills.
· Maintain high standards of housekeeping and prepare accommodation for incoming families.
Requirements
Experience: Proven experience in meeting the needs of diverse communities in a fast-paced environment.
Skills: Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, manage a wide range of duties, and maintain confidentiality and safeguarding standards.
Availability: Willingness to participate in a 24-hour on-call rota and respond to emergencies at our Nottingham refuge. You must be able to get to a location in Nottingham within 30 minutes.
Background Check: Full Enhanced Disclosing and Barring Service check required.
