Cafe all rounder/Food Prep job at Birmingham Full Time

Centenary Lounge is a collection of Art Deco Licensed Cafes. We offer an all day brunch menu as well as cakes, pastries and home-made sandwiches, paninis and salads.

A fantastic opportunity to be a part of our team at Birmingham Moor St Station.

You will be required to cook breakfast and pastries in the morning shift along with preparing sandwiches, paninis, yogurt pots and salads etc Plus preparing the all day brunch to order.

The successful candidate is required to work 25- 35 hours per week to include a weekend shift and flexible to work different shifts when required.

Some 6am shifts are essential for this role.

Having Kitchen experience and some customer service experience is required.

You must be reliable, punctual, professional and friendly at all times. Being a team player is essential as well as great customer service.

Duties:
– Food preparation, including cooking pastries, preparing sandwiches, paninis, salads, and all-day brunch items.

Qualifications:
– Prior experience in food preparation is essential.
– Strong time management skills to handle busy shifts effectively.
– Knowledge of food safety practices and basic math for handling transactions.
– Flexibility to work 25-35 hours per week, including weekends and varied shifts.
– Professionalism, reliability, and a positive attitude are essential qualities for this role.

Responsibilities

• Preparing food – ensuring all items are prepared according to health and safety standards.
• Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the café, including dining areas, kitchen, and service counters.
• Support catering services by preparing and serving food for events as required.
• Provide exceptional customer service by taking orders, serving food and beverages, and addressing relevant customer inquiries.
• Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and maintain high hygiene standards throughout the café.
• Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient operation during busy periods.
• Assist in bartending duties when necessary, including preparing beverages and managing stock levels.

Skills

• Experience in food preparation or catering is highly desirable.
• Knowledge of food safety practices is essential to maintain a safe working environment.
• Previous experience in a restaurant or hospitality setting is essential.
• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with customers and team members.
• Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining attention to detail.
• A proactive attitude towards helping others and contributing to a positive team atmosphere.
