Our professional quality Patient Transport team offer transport to people all ages in the cities, towns and villages in the Northeast area, working directly in partnership with the NHS.
An exciting new role has became available to join our Patient Transport Team as a driver. In this role, you will be responsible for the care and safe transportation of service users throughout the Trust Area, ensuring timely transportation to and from appointments.
Responsibilities:
· Maintain a high standard of vehicle and equipment serviceability, cleanliness and permanent readiness in the event of major incident; carry out daily vehicle checks and report defects promptly in accordance with service instructions.
· Provide a patient focused service and an appropriate level of customer support for service user satisfaction and confidence in the company.
· Convey patients and escorts to and from treatment centres and between hospitals, other treatment centres or care facilities.
· Drive allocated ambulance vehicle, as road traffic law dictates, in a manner appropriate to the conditions, and with due consideration for the safety of vehicle occupants and other road users.
· Provide a quality of travel that is both a smooth and comfortable experience for server user passengers.
· Maintain communication with the PTS Control as appropriate.
· Maintain a high standard of housekeeping and cleanliness in all work areas.
· Maintain security of the vehicle at all times
· Undertake long-distance journeys as requested.
· Maintain confidentiality of information, acting within the terms of the Data Protection Act and Caldicott guidance on patient confidentiality at all times.
· Promote the protection of children and vulnerable adults by adhering to relevant guidance and procedures.
· Maintain an awareness of the Freedom of Information Act.
Requirements
Full UK manual driving Licence for a minimum of 3 years
First Aid at work Certificate (training provided)
Less than 6 points on Licence
Due to of the nature of the work, this post is exempt from the provision (42) of the rehabilitation of offender’s act 1974 (exemptions) order 1975. The post holder will therefore be required to hold a clear Enhanced DBS (provided by Supportive)
Pay: £13.30 per hour
