Location: Southwark and surrounding areas

Pay: £35 per hour PAYE + PPA Time

Job Type: Part-Time / Full-Time / Flexible Hours (Monday-Friday during school hours)

New Chapter Tuition is currently recruiting qualified teachers to deliver personalised 1:1 tuition for children and young people aged 5–25 across Southwark and surrounding areas.

This rewarding outreach role is ideal for education professionals who are passionate about making a meaningful difference through tailored learning, relationship-led practice, and flexible education delivery.

Learners may present with a range of needs including SEND, Autism (ASC), ADHD, SEMH, anxiety, emotionally based school avoidance (EBSA), and disrupted educational journeys.

Support may be delivered through EOTAS packages, alternative provision, EHCP support, elective home education, transition packages, or whilst awaiting specialist placements.

Tuition takes place within homes, libraries and community settings.

The Role

• Deliver engaging and personalised 1:1 tuition sessions
• Support learners across Primary, KS3, KS4, GCSE, and Functional Skills pathways
• Adapt teaching approaches to individual learning styles and outcomes
• Plan sessions in line with EHCP targets and learner needs where appropriate
• Build positive relationships that support confidence and engagement
• Deliver inclusive and flexible approaches to learning
• Complete session feedback and progress reports
• Work collaboratively with families, schools, and professionals

Ideal Candidate

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS/QTLS)
• Experience delivering personalised education support
• Strong understanding of the UK National Curriculum
• Experience supporting GCSE and/or Functional Skills advantageous
• Experience supporting SEN / SEND desirable
• Strong communication and behaviour management skills
• Patient, adaptable, and learner-centred approach
• Ability to work independently within community settings
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
• Right to work in the UK
