Location: Sheffield (Hybrid)

Hours: 22.5 hours per week
Pay: £27,000 FTE (pro-rata for 22.5 hours per week)

Purpose of Role

To support the efficient day-to-day operation of the finance function by processing financial transactions, maintaining accurate financial records, and providing effective support across accounts payable, accounts receivable, reconciliations, reporting, and SAP finance processes.

Key Responsibilities:

• Process purchase and sales invoices through SAP, ensuring accuracy and timely completion.
• Manage the purchase ledger, including matching invoices to purchase orders and resolving discrepancies.
• Process purchase orders in line with company procedures and delegated authority limits.
• Monitor supplier accounts and resolve internal and external finance queries in a timely and professional manner.
• Act as the first point of contact for SAP finance process queries, providing support to internal users.
• Allocate bank receipts and maintain accurate financial records across multiple accounts.
• Perform regular bank reconciliations, including employee expenses and travel-related accounts.
• Monitor employee expense claims in SAP, ensuring approvals are completed within agreed timescales.
• Investigate and resolve SAP processing issues relating to invoices, purchase orders, expenses, and payments.
• Coordinate supplier payment runs and highlight urgent or priority payments to management.
• Liaise with departments regarding outstanding goods receipts to support timely supplier payments.
• Assist with month-end and year-end processes, including reconciliations and reporting.
• Support the preparation of VAT returns and other financial reporting requirements.
• Assist with cash flow forecasting and financial monitoring activities.
• Produce and maintain financial reports, including information required for director-level reporting.
• Support internal and external audit requests by providing documentation and financial information.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of finance processes and systems.
• Assisting with payroll administration
• Providing reception cover as part of a wider team during periods of annual leave or holiday absence
• Provide general support to the Finance Manager and wider finance team as required.
• Work independently to prioritise workload and meet deadlines in a fast-paced finance environment.
• Maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive financial information in line with company policies and data protection requirements.

Qualifications & Experience

• Minimum AAT Level 3 or equivalent (essential)
• Previous experience in a finance or accounts role (essential)
• Experience using SAP or similar ERP/accounting systems
• Strong knowledge of purchase ledger, invoice processing, and bank reconciliations
• Competent in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
• Strong attention to detail and high level of accuracy
• Ability to manage workload independently and prioritise effectively
• Good communication and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work collaboratively across departments and build effective working relationships
• Understanding of financial controls and confidentiality requirements
