A supportive and inclusive Alternative Provision in Barking is seeking a resilient and compassionate Behaviour Support Mentor to work with students who require additional behavioural, emotional, and pastoral support.

This is a rewarding opportunity for a passionate Behaviour Support Mentor to make a real difference in the lives of young people who may face barriers to mainstream education.

The Role

• Supporting students with behavioural, emotional, and social needs
• Building positive relationships and promoting engagement in learning
• Managing challenging behaviour using restorative approaches
• Providing 1:1 and small group support
• Assisting teachers in creating a safe and structured learning environment
• Supporting students both inside and outside the classroom

The Ideal Candidate – Behaviour Support Mentor

• Experience working with young people in schools, PRUs, alternative provisions, youth work, or mentoring settings
• Calm, patient, and resilient approach
• Strong behaviour management and communication skills
• Ability to build trust and positive relationships with students
• Passion for inclusion and student wellbeing
