Join Our Team as a Class 2 HGV Driver – Waste Collection!

To be part of a team proving waste collection services to the residents of the Borough. To be responsible for the vehicle, passengers and load of the refuse collection vehicle complying with the relevant transport, waste, and Health & safety legislation always.

Position: HGV Driver Class 2 (Waste Collection)
Contract Type: Temporary – on going
Hourly Rate:£18.92 per hour PAYE £24.63 per hour UMBRELLA
Driving Required: Yes – Digi Tacho and CPC licence required.

What You’ll Do:
As an HGV Driver Class 2, you will play a vital role in supporting our community by driving council HGV vehicles alongside a hardworking crew. Your key responsibilities will include:

• Collecting domestic, commercial, and green waste from various locations around the borough.
• Tipping waste at the local tip, ensuring all materials are disposed of responsibly.
• Adhering to Health and Safety regulations at all times to ensure a safe working environment.
• Wearing steel toe cap boots at all times to protect yourself while on the job.
• Working on the afternoon Shift – 2pm-10pm

What We’re Looking For:
To thrive in this role, you should possess:

• A valid driving licence (Category C).
• CPC (Certificate of Professional Competence) certification.
• Digi Tacho training.
• Previous experience driving HGV vehicles.

Training & Assessment:
Before you hit the road, we’ll provide you with a thorough driving assessment and induction. This ensures you’re fully equipped to handle the responsibilities of the role and familiar with our operations.
